Dün akşam Montreal Jazz Festivalinde Wax Poetic konserindeydim : daha önce İlhan Erşahin'i hiç canlı dinlemiştim, beklediğimden çok daha ilginç bir konserdi. İkinci parçada sahneye gelen vokalist ise benim için tam bir sürprizdi : Nil Karaibrahimgil. Türkiye'de "popçu" damgasıyla pek de ciddiye alınmayan Nil, sahneyi tam anlamıyla doldurdu.

Konser sonrası tesadüfen gittiğimiz barda ise Wax Poetic ve Mercan Dede çoktan güzel bir masa kurmuşlardı - daha sonra Nil'in gelişiyle ekip tamamlandı, biz de bu güzel konser için şahsen teşekkür etme şansı bulduk tüm ekibe..

Böylece Montrealdeki ilk gecemde bir Türk Ünlüleri Gecesi yaşadım

Last night I was at the Wax Poetic concert, in Montreal Jazz Festival.. Never listened to İlhan Erşahin before, I was quite amazed at the performance. The lead vocalist was Nil Karaibrahimgil - a famous pop singer in Turkey. She was fabulous in stage, despite her rather underrated label "pop celebrity"

The bar we went after the concert was an another story - members of the Wax Poetic and Mercan Dede was already there and enjoying themselves.. We've had a chance to say an exclusive "thank you" to all of them.

So, in my first nigth in Montreal, I've had a memorable "Turkish Celebrity Night". Did I say that's the strangest life I've ever lived ?
